Salman Habib
Chair Salman Habib is a senior at Harvard, where he is concentrating in Government with a secondary in Economics. Born and raised in Pakistan, he moved to Virginia where he completed his high school education. In addition to the HPF, Salman serves as the President of Harvard College Peace Action, a student organization that advocates a more peaceful and diplomacy-oriented United States foreign policy. Outside Harvard, Salman was a member of Global Consultation for the World Humanitarian Summit where he helped in the development of a comprehensive humanitarian action plan. He has previously served as the Project Team Member for the United Nations Sustainable Energy for All Forum and has also worked with the Office of Senator Mark Warner at the United States Senate. Salman is particularly interested in issues related to foreign policy and nuclear security. Currently, he is conducting policy research on the future of nuclear weapons, proliferation, and terrorism at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. |
Mahnoor Khan
Chair Mahnoor is a senior at Harvard concentrating in Government with a secondary in Neurobiology. She is from Lahore, Pakistan, but has spent a significant part of her childhood moving around East Africa and the Middle East. At one point, she had been to seven schools in nine years in five different countries. At college, Mahnoor has enjoyed being a part of various students groups such as the International Relations Council and John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum Committee at Harvard’s Institute of Politics. She has served as the Editor-in-Chief at the Harvard International Review, was a board member of the International Relations Council and was on Secretariat for WorldMUN. She gets her weekly dose of Urdu and all things Pakistan through the Pakistan Student Association. The Harvard Pakistan Forum has been one of the highlights of her college experience and she can’t wait for the upcoming conference. |
Minahil Khan
Deputy Chair Minahil is a junior at Harvard concentrating in History and Literature, with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights. Born in Islamabad, she moved to Indiana when she was seven, but she calls New York City home, where she has lived happily with her parents and younger sister for the past eight years. Minahil visits Pakistan every year, traveling throughout the country to see family and friends. Through these visits, she has become very invested in seeing a better future for Pakistan, and she believes increased discourse and confronting the many social and political issues Pakistan faces will aid in creating a more positive path for her home country. Outside of her role in HPF as Deputy Chair, Minahil serves as Diversity Chair of the Eleganza Charity Fashion Show, Academic-Political Chair of the South Asian Women's Collective, and Director of Outreach for Lidless, a play on brownness and Islamophobia. She is also a mentor to young men in the Sargent Halfway House through Youth Prison Tutoring and a part of the Institute of Politics. In her free time, Minahil loves reading and writing, South Asian dance and hip-hop, and exploring New York with her friends. |
Zuneera Shah
Director of Logistics Born and raised in Lahore, Zuneera is a sophomore in Eliot House pursuing a joint concentration in Government and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Apart from her involvement in the Pakistan Students Association as the Director of Political and Educational Initiatives, Zuneera is a member of the Crimson editorial board where she also writes a biweekly column on the international student experience at Harvard. Zuneera is a member of the International Women’s Rights Collective and serves as a Radcliffe Research Assistant and Widener Library Assistant at the college. She enjoys conversations over chai, hiking, writing, New Girl, and playing the guitar. |
Farhan Javed
Director of Finance Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Farhan Javed is currently in the third year of his undergraduate studies at Harvard College. He is pursuing a degree in Economics with a minor in Government and a language citation in Classical Arabic. Farhan has past internship experience in central bank economic research as well as cryptocurrency trading and legality research. Upon graduation, he will be working at Citigroup as an Investment Banking Analyst in the firm’s Manhattan office and has future plans of later going on to attend law school. He is also interested in pursuing local politics and is an avid coffee culture enthusiast. In his free time, Farhan enjoys writing geopolitical analysis pieces for the Harvard International Review, reading from the alternative history genre, and playing ping pong and pool |
Rameen Rana
Director of Outreach Rameen is a freshman in Pennypacker who is undecided about her concentration, but is interested in global health and health policy, economics, and psychology. She is especially interested in increasing the awareness and implementation of mental health curricula and reducing its stigma in South Asia. Outside of HPF, she is involved with Harvard Student Agencies, the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations and the South Asian Association. In her free time, she can be found reading, frolicking the streets of Boston, watching Jimmy Kimmel interviews, or taking an excessive amount of Buzzfeed quizzes. |
Shireen Younus
Member-at-Large Shireen is a freshman at Harvard hoping to concentrate in Government with a secondary in Economics. She is from Baltimore, Maryland, though her family originally hails from Lahore, Pakistan. Shireen has been writing since she was in middle school, and is currently a Huffington Post blogger. Here at Harvard, she is an Editor on the Harvard Crimson’s Editorial Board. She has also written for the Harvard Political Review, and is involved in the Institute of Politics. Shireen is very passionate about social justice and human rights, and is always interested in having a conversation surrounding any such issue. In her free time, she loves listening to music, visiting new places, and hanging out with friends. As an Ahmadi Muslim, she feels strongly about the importance of uplifting minority voices in the Pakistani community, and is excited to join in the important work the Harvard Pakistani Forum is doing |
